THE WARWICKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (THE A435 TRUNK ROAD) (GORCOTT HILL TO STUDLEY, WARWICKSHIRE) (RESTRICTION AND 40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) (VARIATION NO. 1) ORDER 2022

Warwickshire County Council propose to make the abovenamed Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:

- remove the Restricted Road status by Order on the lengths of road described in Schedule 1 below, as those lengths of road have become a restricted road by virtue of a system of street lighting now in place thereon;

- impose a 40mph speed limit on the lengths of road mentioned in Schedule 2, below; and

- Impose a 50mph speed limit on the lengths of road mentioned in Schedule 3 below.

A copy of the proposed Orders, together with a plan showing the length of road affected, the Orders to be revoked and varied, and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Orders, may be inspected at the Main Reception, Shire Hall, Market Place, Warwick and on the Council’s website at: https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/news/20209/stratford-avon-district

SCHEDULE 1

(30 MPH by virtue of a system of street lighting)

A435 Birmingham Road

1. The length of the A435 Trunk Road between points 285 metres and 406 metres south west of its junction with the centreline of Icknield Street Drive

A435 Birmingham-Evesham Road, Studley/Sambourne

2. From the Southern side of its junction with Toms Town Lane in the Parish of Studley, to the northern side of its junction with the A448 Studley-Bromsgrove Road at Spernal Ash in the Parish of Sambourne, a distance of approximately 846 metres

A3400 Birmingham Road, Stratford

3. From the centre of One Elm Bridge over the Stratford upon Avon Canal, north westwards to a point 195 metres south east of its junction with the A46 (Warwick to Evesham Road), a distance of approximately 1.58 kilometres

A3400 Shipston Road, Stratford

4. From a point 91 metres south of its junction with Banbury Road (A422), to its junction with Shipston Road roundabout, a distance of 950 metres

B4035 Campden Road, Shipston

5. From a point 82 metres south-west of its junction with Darlingscote Road in a generally westerly direction to a point 73 metres west of its junction with Sadlers Avenue, a distance of approximately 466 metres

A435 Alcester Road/A435 Birmingham Road

6. From a point 37 metres south of its junction with Spernal lane, northwards for a distance of 138 metres

A448 Bromsgrove Road, Studley

7. From its junction with the A435 Alcester Road / A435 Birmingham Road ,north westwards for a distance of 42 metres.

SCHEDULE 2

40 MPH

1. A435 Birmingham Road- Coughton-Alcester

From a point 683 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Coughton Fields Lane to a point 194 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Ragley Mill Lane; including the roundabout junction with the B4090 Alcester Heath Road and B4089 Kinwarton Link Road, known locally as the Birmingham Road Roundabout; a distance of 2960 metres.

2. A435/A46 Alcester Bypass

The A435 in a north-easterly direction from a point 150 metres south-west of the centre point of its roundabout junction with the B4090 Alcester Heath Road and B4089 Kinwarton Link Road.

SCHEDULE 3

50 MPH

1. A435 Alcester Road / Spernal Ash / Haydon Way Birmingham Road

From a point 36 metres south of the centreline of its junction with Spernal Lane to a point 683 metres north of the centreline of its junction with Coughton Fields Lane; a distance of 1260 metres.
